On 12 Dec 2018 at 12:00 UTC, Inmarsat plan to take the next step in migrating its Inmarsat C services from its I-3 to I-4 satellites when Indian Ocean Region (IOR) I-3 moves to Europe/Middle East/Asia (EMEA) I-4, further details can be found here. Overall, the potential impact of this change is unknown at present; however it is considered to be minimal, and a smooth transition will go unnoticed by the vast majority of users.
We advise customers to avoid scheduling SSAS or LRIT Conformance tests between 10th - 12th December 2018, in case there is any unexpected impact on the system as a result of this change.
Map upgrade notification: The old, obsolete, Java Applet technology used by older maps in Purplefinder is no longer supported by Java itself or the growing majority of web browsers. This caused the Applet maps to fail, even when using a very old web browser. We are therefore upgrading these packages to use new maps supported by all current web browsers. So please do not be surprised when you see new improved maps and fleet lists when you login.
ALERT ADVANCED customers:Please note that ship icons on the map will not change colour during Alert and Test sequences. This does not impact SSAS functionality and remains as usual on the 'Manage Alerts' page.-
